Alicante’s full at Barcelona Wine Week 2026

From February 2nd to 3rd, Barcelona celebrates another edition of its Wine Week, the most important international event for Spanish wines. In Hall 8 of Montjuïc, the Alicante DOP will be present with a large number of wineries offering one of the most diverse and special products in the Spanish catalog.

Monastrells, Moscatels, Girós, Mersegueras, and other indigenous and small-production varieties have been transformed by a new generation of winemakers into products that have been described as “among the most interesting and with the greatest potential in Spain” by Sarah Jane Evans and other international critics.

On Alicante Street (C467-C491), you will find 13 wineries: Alejandro Pérez, Bocopa, Bodegas Pinoso, Bodegas Las Virtudes, Bodegas Xaló, Casa Balaguer, Colección Toneles Centenarios, Faelo, Finca Collado, Francisco Gómez, Masos, MG Wines, and Santa Catalina del Mañán. And in other locations within Hall 8, other wineries such as Bodegas Mendoza, Bodegas Vicente Gandía, El Sequé, Les Freses, Oscar Mestre, Oriol Romeu, Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola, and Volver will also be present. This group of wineries represents a record number of participants and confirms the professional nature of this fair. The Alicante PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) has the support of the Alicante Provincial Council on this occasion.

Among the nearly 80 activities, the tasting “Spanish Wines that have traveled from a king’s glass to the soul of a people: Cariñena, Rueda, and Alicante” will be held on Tuesday the 3rd at 3:00 p.m. in the “Tasting Area,” led by Ferran Centelles (el bullifoundation). This extraordinary compilation of history, tradition, and current trends will trace the evolution of these unique regions.

The last edition of BWW, in February 2025, brought together 1,266 exhibiting wineries, 81 Designations of Origin (DOs), and nearly 25,700 professional visitors, 20% of whom were international. The event is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV), the Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Boards (CECRV), and the Spanish Interprofessional Wine Organization (OIVE).
