18 Apr 2023 Alicante DOP at Fenavin 2023
The National Wine Fair, FENAVIN, held in Ciudad Real, from May 9 to 11, will have an important Alicante presence represented by some 16 wineries.
The Alicante area will be located in the new Hafiz pavilion (at street 25, stand 6) where 11 wineries will be presenting their latest novelties in a 150-square-meter stand: Bodegas Riko, Bodegas Xaló, Casa Agrícola, Francisco Gómez, Finca Collado, Fuego Lento, Joan de la Casa, MG Wines, Las Virtudes, Bodega Santa Catalina del Mañán and Shukhrat Khakimov & Viticultores.
Also, other wineries such as Bocopa, Mendoza or Casa Balaguer, Gandía Plá, Arráez or Murviedro will attend with their own stands or distributors, which adds up to one of the most popular representations of production in the area.
In addition to the commercial presence, there will be a tasting in Room 1 of the Homer Pavilion. It will be the central day of the fair, on May 10, at 1:00 p.m. and with the title “Alicante, past and future of a sensitive area.” Rafael Poveda and Pepe Mendoza will host a journey through the history of the appellation of origin, which since 1510 is the oldest quality figure in Europe.
At the same time, wines with a more classic profile will be tasted together with wines that are creating a new style in the area. Monastrell and muscat wines, also girós, forcallats, organic and vegan wines, demeter and of course the quintessential Alicante classic, Fondillón.
