“Vergel 2013“, a red wine from La Bodega de Pinoso, won a gold medal at the international China Wine & Spirits Awards, the biggest and most prestigious competition of its kind in Hong Kong and China. The gold medal rewards the excellent job being done by the winery from its main base, where they work with new Monastrell-based wines and organic cultivation methods that are becoming increasingly important and sustainable for the local area. The winery also operates in China, where it has started expanding its involvement and distribution in eastern regions and Taiwan.

The organisation emphasised that the gold medal was especially “brilliant” in view of the significant number of world-class wines represented, and Spanish wines in particular.

The judging panel comprises a wide-ranging group of professionals from all over the world, all of whom are specialists with a wealth of expertise and knowledge of the Chinese market, so winning this award is a huge achievement.
