Marta Ribera and Andrés Carull are two young oenologists who, in 2008 decided to set up Vinessens, a family-run winery in Villena. Together they have obtained signature wines, reflecting their own personalities and the character of their local area, based on three essential pillars: enthusiasm, innovation and hard work.
The effort put in by Andrés and Marta to offer their customers something more than just good quality is evident in every single one of their wines. In only a short time they have more than proved their worth in the wines they produce. If Sein was a surprise for the new generation Vinos Alicante PDO, the other wines in their portfolio have gone on to reach new heights, making them extremely promising young winemakers.
We chatted with them about the difficulties they had to overcome in the early days of Vinessens, their main reasons for starting up the winery, the current situation of wine consumption in Spain and the measures they have had to put in place at the winery to develop the business.
